What it can do
Lift an old event date, an expired sale line, or a caption sitting on texture. Rectangle and brush share one mask. Several marks in one run are allowed. The composite keeps source pixels wherever the mask is empty.
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP. Box or brush the letters you are allowed to edit. Reconstruct that background. Download the composite that keeps every unselected pixel.
You choose the letters. The tool does not hunt them.
There is no OCR pass and no automatic wipe of every word. A missing selection cannot start a paid run. Identity documents and copyright watermarks stay out of this workbench.
Upload one image, box or brush the letters you own, then download a composite that keeps every unselected pixel.
Upload a supported image and mark the letters before you spend credits.

Remove text from image scope
This pass is for ordinary captions, dates, and promo lines on a photo you may edit. It is not a type swapper, not a watermark service, and not a detector that finds every glyph for you.
Lift an old event date, an expired sale line, or a caption sitting on texture. Rectangle and brush share one mask. Several marks in one run are allowed. The composite keeps source pixels wherever the mask is empty.
It does not read the letters, guess a font, or put new words in the hole. Residual strokes can remain if the mask misses a serif. Output from the model may arrive at 1K. The workbench then composites back to the uploaded size.
Do not upload passports, IDs, licenses, or other identity documents. Do not use this page to strip copyright watermarks from files you do not control.
Three steps
Start with the sharpest honest file you have. Keep the original. Treat the download as a viewing copy of a reconstructed region, not a recovered design file.
Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP file up to 5 MB, with each side from 256 to 4,096 pixels and no more than 16 megapixels.
Draw a rectangle over a text block or paint with a fine brush. Zoom, undo, and clear are free. Sign in and confirm 20 credits before generate. An empty mask is rejected.
Check that unmarked type and logos still match the source. The download is the original frame with reconstructed pixels only inside the mask.
Remove text from image cases
These illustrative examples show one marked removal at a time. They are not measured outputs or a performance benchmark. Inspect your result against the source.

A printed date that no longer matches the event. Mark only that line so nearby venue type stays.

A percent-off line that should not ship with the listing. Leave the brand mark outside the mask.

A homemade note sitting on fabric, wood, or grain. The fill has to continue the texture, not smear a flat patch.
The model rebuilds plausible pixels behind the marked letters. It cannot restore the original photograph that existed before the type was added. Tight serifs, dense kerning, and busy patterns need a slightly larger mark than the ink itself.
If a stroke remains, enlarge the mask and run again as a new paid job on the latest download. If you need new letters in the same hole, use Edit Text in Image instead of this remover.
A signed-in run creates a tracked task. You can reopen the result from My Creations after a dropped connection without another charge for that request id. The workbench composite is what you inspect and download here.
The current storage backend has no automatic expiry for uploaded or generated image objects. Delete in My Creations calls the authenticated creation-delete endpoint and soft-deletes the task record from account history; it does not delete the underlying image object or provider copy. Review the Privacy Policy and contact support before uploading sensitive photos.
Choose the right workflow
Pick the path that matches the file and the risk. Targeted reconstruction, desktop healing, and detect-everything wipes are different jobs.
| Remove Text from Image vs Clone Stamp vs Automatic Wipe | Best for | Control | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banana Pro AI Remove Text from Image | A flattened JPG, PNG, or WebP where you know which letters should go and which marks must stay | Rectangle plus brush, zoom, undo, a required mask, then a composite that keeps unselected pixels | Fast in the browser. You must mark the type. Residual ink means another paid pass, not a hidden detector |
| Desktop clone stamp or heal | Retouchers who want pixel-level sampling, layered history, and print-side review on a workstation | Manual clone, heal, and history on a local file | Highest control, with more time, skill, and software cost |
| Automatic detect-and-wipe-all-text | A throwaway frame where every glyph should vanish and a leftover logo is acceptable collateral | One-click detection with little regional choice | Speed when you want every word gone. Weak when a brand mark or a second caption must survive |
Tool specifications
The workbench accepts one JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 5 MB. Each side must be between 256 and 4,096 pixels, and the image must stay within 16 megapixels. One run costs 20 credits. The model reconstructs at 1K with an automatic aspect ratio. The composite you download is returned at the uploaded pixel size.
By using the tool, you confirm that your upload complies with the Terms of Service. Identity documents and copyright watermark removal are not allowed.

Questions
Clear answers about selection, leftover strokes, replacement type, watermarks, and credits.
It means marking flattened letters on a JPG, PNG, or WebP you may edit, reconstructing the surface behind that mark, and downloading a file that keeps every unselected pixel from the upload.
No. You box or brush the letters. An empty mask cannot start a paid run. That is how nearby captions and logos stay put.
The workbench composites the reconstruction only inside the mask and keeps the original pixels everywhere else, including original width and height. Inspect the split view before you download.
Not on this page. Generate a clean background here or go to Edit Text in Image when the job is a typed replacement.
No. Copyright watermark removal and identity documents are out of scope. Use the dedicated watermark tool only on files you are allowed to clean, and never upload passports or licenses.
One signed-in run costs 20 credits. Retry of the same request id does not charge again. A new mask on a new request id is a new charge.
Upload a supported image, draw the mask, and download a composite that keeps everything you did not mark.
